Arbitrary command execution via unescaped Git email
Published Sep 10, 2025 · Updated Oct 15, 2025
Code injection in Anthropic Claude Code before 1.0.105 allows attackers to execute arbitrary commands by opening a malicious Git workspace. During startup, the project-load path interpolates the workspace's git config user.email value into a shell command without escaping it. A user must start Claude Code in the attacker-controlled repository, and execution occurs before the workspace trust dialog is accepted.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
