Authenticated profile disclosure via broken API authorization
Published Sep 10, 2025 · Updated Sep 11, 2025
Authorization bypass in CERN Indico before 3.3.8 allows remote authenticated users to read other users' profile details via a legacy API. The legacy user-details endpoint accepts a user-controlled identifier and returns the selected profile without enforcing its administrator-only access check. Any logged-in user can retrieve another account's profile details, while the published impact is limited to confidentiality.
