Subscriber-level arbitrary file deletion via path traversal
Published Oct 22, 2025 · Updated Oct 22, 2025
Path traversal in AmentoTech Taskbot 6.4 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to delete arbitrary files from the server. The plugin's file-deletion path handling accepts a user-controlled pathname without sufficient validation or confinement to an intended directory. Subscriber-level access is sufficient; deleting a critical WordPress file can disrupt the site or enable code execution.
