CVE-2025-5891Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Service interruption via backtracking argument splitter

Published Jun 9, 2025 · Updated Jun 9, 2025

Regular expression denial of service in Unitech PM2 before 7.0.0 allows remote authenticated users to interrupt service via crafted arguments. Config._valid splits string-valued array arguments with a backtracking-prone expression that consumes excessive CPU on long repeated text followed by a delimiter. Exploitation requires influence over PM2 configuration arguments and affects availability without reported data access or modification.
