Unauthorized test-email actions via missing nonce verification
Published Sep 5, 2025 · Updated May 13, 2026
CSRF in a3rev Software WP Email Template 2.8.6 and earlier allows remote attackers to trigger test-email actions through an administrator. The send-test-email settings action accepts AJAX requests without verifying a WordPress nonce, allowing forged requests to execute in an administrator session. Exploitation requires a logged-in administrator to visit a crafted page or link; the bounded consequence is an unauthorized test-email action.
