Authenticated file disclosure via external entity expansion
Published Jun 9, 2025 · Updated Jun 9, 2025
XML external entity injection in Feng Office 3.2.2.1 allows remote authenticated users to read server files through document upload. The readZippedXML function parses XML from uploaded DOCX or ODT files with entity expansion and XInclude enabled, resolving attacker-controlled external entities. An account permitted to upload documents can exfiltrate local files and induce outbound server requests; code execution requires additional PHP facilities.
