CVE-2025-58755Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Arbitrary file writes via unchecked archive paths

Published Sep 8, 2025 · Updated Sep 9, 2025

Path traversal in MONAI 1.5.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to write arbitrary files via a crafted ZIP archive. The extractall helper in monai/apps/utils.py passed archive member paths directly to ZipFile.extractall without verifying that resolved paths remained under the output directory. Exploitation requires a consuming workflow to download or process the malicious archive and can overwrite files writable by that workflow's account.
