CVE-2025-58743

Database credential disclosure via 56-bit DES

Published Jan 20, 2026 · Updated Jan 20, 2026

Weak cryptography in Milner ImageDirector Capture before 7.6.3.25808 allows local users to recover stored database credentials. The Password class in C2SConnections.dll encrypts locally stored database credentials with 56-bit DES and a static initialization vector. A local low-privileged user must obtain the encrypted material; successful brute forcing exposes credentials used to access the application's database.
