CVE-2025-58740

Database credential disclosure via hard-coded encryption key

Published Jan 20, 2026 · Updated Jan 20, 2026

Hard-coded cryptographic key use in Milner ImageDirector Capture 7.0.9 through 7.6.3.25807 allows local users to decrypt database credentials. The Password function in C2SGlobalSettings.dll uses an encryption key embedded in the Windows executable, exposing the key to static inspection. Local low-privileged access to the installed binary is sufficient to recover the key and reveal the database credentials protected by it.
