Unauthenticated data disclosure via exposed settings interfaces
Published Jun 9, 2025 · Updated Jun 9, 2025
Missing authentication in the eGauge EG3000 3.6.3 Setting Handler allows remote attackers to read sensitive device data. The handler exposes web interfaces without checking authentication before returning energy-use records, network settings, and system telemetry. Network access to the device is sufficient; the demonstrated consequence is disclosure of operational and configuration data, not modification or service interruption.
