Stored XSS via unescaped tracking settings
Published Sep 3, 2025 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Stored XSS in rbaer Simple Matomo Tracking Code 1.1.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts in visitors' browsers. The plugin saves administrator-submitted Matomo settings without sufficient input sanitization and inserts them into generated tracking JavaScript without adequate output escaping. Administrator access is required to store a payload, and a visitor must load an affected page for the script to run in that visitor's browser.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
