Arbitrary file read via simulator path traversal
Published Oct 23, 2025 · Updated Oct 23, 2025
Path traversal in AutomationDirect Productivity Suite 4.2.1.9 and earlier allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files without authentication. The ProductivityService PLC simulator resolves attacker-supplied file paths without confining them to the intended directory. Exploitation requires network reachability to the simulator and exposes files on its Windows host, with no reported write or execution capability.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
