Administrator account creation via unchecked preview nonce
Published Sep 9, 2025 · Updated Sep 10, 2025
Cross-site request forgery in listmonk 1.1.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to create an administrator account through an admin's browser. The /api/templates/preview handler accepts an authenticated cross-origin POST without validating the nonce, then renders attacker-supplied script that can call /api/users with the victim's session. Exploitation requires an authenticated administrator to load attacker-controlled HTML in a browser that sends the session cookie; the demonstrated chain creates a new administrator account.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
