Stored XSS via unescaped shortcode identifier
Published Jul 16, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored cross-site scripting in Brandfolder for WordPress 5.0.19 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to run scripts via an id shortcode. The shortcode handler interpolates the unescaped id attribute into generated embed markup, so crafted content becomes executable page code. Contributor-level access is required to save the shortcode, and the code executes when a user views the injected page.
