Adjacent code execution via crafted CAPWAP packets

Stack overflow in the CAPWAP daemon in Fortinet FortiOS and FortiSASE allows adjacent remote attackers to execute arbitrary code. The daemon writes beyond a stack buffer while processing specially crafted CAPWAP packets; Fortinet has not disclosed the vulnerable function or packet field. By default, exploitation requires control of an authorized FortiAP on the same IP subnet and successful defeat of stack protection and ASLR.
