SYSTEM code execution via unquoted service path
Published Sep 5, 2025 · Updated Sep 5, 2025
Unquoted service path handling in RATOC RAID Monitoring Manager for Windows before 2.00.09.250820 allows local users to execute code as SYSTEM. The installer registers the program's Windows service executable path without quotation marks, allowing path parsing to select attacker-controlled code from an earlier path component. Exploitation requires write permission in the system drive's root directory and yields full SYSTEM-context code execution.
