Code execution via unprotected workspace task writes
Published Sep 5, 2025 · Updated Sep 8, 2025
Code injection in Roo Code 3.25.23 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code through malicious workspace tasks. RooProtectedController omits *.code-workspace from its protected-path list, so auto-approved writes can place attacker-controlled settings or tasks in workspace files. Exploitation requires prompt influence, auto-approved file writes that are disabled by default, and a later workspace reopen; code runs with the editor user's privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
