CVE-2025-58358Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Remote code execution via unsanitized PPTX path

Published Sep 4, 2025 · Updated Sep 4, 2025

Command injection in Zach Caceres Markdownify MCP Server before 0.0.2 allows remote attackers to execute system commands via a crafted PPTX path. Markdownify._markitdown interpolates the filepath into a child_process.exec shell string without neutralizing shell metacharacters. Exploitation requires an MCP client or user to invoke pptx-to-markdown with an attacker-controlled filepath, and injected commands run with the server process's privileges.
