CVE-2025-58355Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Arbitrary file overwrite via Git argument injection

Published Sep 3, 2025 · Updated Sep 4, 2025

Argument injection in Charmbracelet Soft Serve 0.9.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to overwrite arbitrary server files via SSH. The SSH repo commit command forwards attacker-controlled trailing arguments to Git without rejecting --output, so Git writes uncontrolled command output to a chosen path. Repository access through an authenticated SSH session is required, and writes are limited to files accessible to the Soft Serve process.
