SYSTEM privilege escalation via arbitrary DLL invocation
Published Aug 28, 2025 · Updated Aug 29, 2025
Incorrect privilege assignment in NAVER MYBOX Explorer for Windows before 3.0.8.133 allows local users to gain SYSTEM privileges. NAVER states that a privileged component invokes arbitrary DLLs without proper privilege checks but does not identify the executable or call path. Local low-privileged access is required, and successful exploitation executes attacker-controlled DLL code as NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM.
