Code execution via unvalidated firmware downgrade
Published Jun 25, 2025 · Updated Jun 25, 2025
Firmware downgrade in Autel MaxiCharger AC Wallbox Commercial 1.36.00 allows network-adjacent attackers to execute arbitrary code. The firmware update process applies an image without properly validating its security version, permitting installation of older vulnerable code. Exploitation requires pairing a malicious Bluetooth device and chaining another vulnerability, after which code runs in the device context.
