Stored XSS via unsanitized shortcode attributes
Published Aug 27, 2025 · Updated May 12, 2026
Stored XSS in rtCamp Transcoder 1.4.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through rt_media shortcodes. The shortcode renderer accepts unvalidated attributes and emits their values without sufficient sanitization or output escaping when it builds media-player markup. Contributor-level access is required to store a crafted shortcode, and the script runs when another user opens the affected post or page.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
