Adjacent authentication bypass via uninitialized ERTM channel data
Published Jun 21, 2025 · Updated Jun 23, 2025
Authentication bypass in Sony XAV-AX8500 2.00.01 allows physically proximate attackers to bypass access controls over Bluetooth ERTM. The Bluetooth ERTM channel implementation improperly initializes channel data, allowing an unauthenticated peer to communicate through an alternate channel. Bluetooth radio proximity is required; successful exploitation permits unauthorized system access, while the published record does not further define the reachable functions.
