Stored script execution via unescaped shortcode parameter
Published Aug 27, 2025 · Updated May 12, 2026
Stored XSS in Simple Download Monitor 3.9.34 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts through a shortcode parameter. The sdm_download_link shortcode inserts a parameter into generated link markup without output escaping, allowing persisted HTML or script content to reach a visitor's browser. Contributor access is required to store the payload, and a privileged user must view the affected page for script execution in that user's browser.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
