CVE-2025-58186Network attack vector

Memory exhaustion via unbounded cookie structure allocation

Published Oct 29, 2025 · Updated Oct 29, 2025

Resource exhaustion in Go standard library net/http before 1.24.8 and 1.25.0 through 1.25.1 allows remote attackers to consume memory. Cookie parsing routines accept an unbounded number of tiny Cookie or Set-Cookie values within the 1 MB header limit and allocate a separate structure for each parsed cookie. Any Go HTTP client or server that parses attacker-controlled cookies is exposed to elevated memory use and a resulting service interrupt.
