Memory exhaustion via pre-validation DER slice allocation

Resource exhaustion in Go standard library encoding/asn1 before 1.24.8 and 1.25.0 through 1.25.1 allows remote attackers to exhaust memory. The parseSequenceOf path calls reflect.MakeSlice before fully validating attacker-supplied DER, allocating approximately 28 times the input for direct Unmarshal calls. Exposure requires an application to pass untrusted DER to an affected decoding path; exhaustion can stall or terminate that application without reading or changing data.
