Bot logging disablement via unchecked AJAX action
Published Jun 13, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Missing authorization in Traffic Monitor 3.2.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to disable bot logging through a public AJAX action. The tfcm_maybe_set_bot_flags function processes the tfcm_set_bot_flags action through admin-ajax.php and changes the bot-logging setting without a capability check. No account or user interaction is required, and the demonstrated consequence is limited to suppressing bot records collected by the plugin.
