CVE-2025-58145Network attack vector

Host crash via premature P2M lock release

Published Sep 11, 2025 · Updated Sep 11, 2025

Race condition in Xen 4.12 and later on Arm allows guest OS users to crash the hypervisor while mapping another domain’s page. The p2m_get_page_from_gfn function releases the P2M lock before obtaining a reference to a foreign page, allowing its type or ownership to change during the operation. An unprivileged guest can trigger the race and crash the entire host; privilege escalation and information disclosure remain unconfirmed.
