CVE-2025-58125Network attack vector

Traffic interception via missing TLS certificate validation

Published Aug 28, 2025 · Updated Aug 28, 2025

Improper certificate validation in Cyril Pawelko Freebox v6 agent allows man-in-the-middle attackers to intercept Freebox API traffic. The agent's secure Freebox API connection path accepts presented TLS certificates without verifying them, permitting an impersonating endpoint to terminate an intercepted connection. Exploitation requires control of the network path between the Linux-hosted Checkmk agent script and the monitored Freebox, exposing confidential API traffic and allowing response modification.
