Unauthorized REST API access via missing permission checks
Published Nov 18, 2025 · Updated Nov 18, 2025
Improper permission validation in Checkmk 2.2.0, 2.3.0, and 2.4.0 before 2.4.0p16 allows remote authenticated users to access REST API functions. Eight service-discovery, activation, SLA, and background-job endpoints accept requests without enforcing their documented permissions. In the default configuration, any authenticated account can read discovery, change, and job data or invoke discovery-phase and SLA operations beyond its assigned rights.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
