Memory disclosure via undersized EMR_SMALLTEXTOUT record
Published Dec 2, 2025 · Updated Dec 2, 2025
Out-of-bounds read in PDF-XChange Editor 10.7.3.401 allows remote attackers to disclose memory through a crafted EMF file. The EMR_SMALLTEXTOUT parser reads the optional Bounds field when recordSize is below 0x34 and fuOptions marks Bounds present, although the record cannot contain it. Exploitation requires user interaction to process the malicious file and exposes only process-accessible memory, without modifying data or interrupting service.
