Credential disclosure via cleartext ActiveSync transmission
Published Mar 2, 2026 · Updated Mar 2, 2026
Cleartext transmission in Microsoft Exchange through 2019 allows attackers to read Samsung mobile users' credentials during EAS synchronization. Affected on-premises EAS configurations send the user's name, email address, device ID, bearer token, and base64-encoded password without transport encryption. Network-path access to the client-server channel is required; exposure is limited to confidentiality, including reusable credentials and tokens.
