CVE-2025-58098Network attack vector

Command execution via SSI query-string argument injection

Published Dec 5, 2025 · Updated Feb 26, 2026

Argument injection in Apache HTTP Server before 2.4.66 allows remote attackers to alter SSI #exec command arguments through query strings. The mod_cgid SSI execution path passes the shell-escaped HTTP query string as additional arguments to the command named by an #exec cmd directive. Exposure requires executable SSI content and mod_cgid rather than mod_cgi; consequences depend on the invoked program's argument handling and include code execution.
