Admin host compromise via unrestricted script execution
Published Aug 28, 2025 · Updated Aug 28, 2025
OS command injection in Valtimo backend libraries allows remote authenticated users with admin rights to compromise the application host. The Camunda and Operaton process engines execute administrator-supplied JavaScript tasks with unrestricted host-class access, exposing Java runtime classes and Spring application resources. Exploitation requires ROLE_ADMIN access to create or modify and execute process definitions, enabling command execution and sensitive-data extraction.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
