Authenticated privilege escalation via forged account update
Published Dec 19, 2025 · Updated Dec 19, 2025
Improper privilege management in Galette before 1.2.0 allows remote authenticated users to gain higher privileges via a forged POST request. The vendor has not disclosed which account-update handler or privilege fields process the forged request without enforcing the caller's existing authorization. A valid low-privilege session is required, and exploitation changes account authorization without directly disclosing data or interrupting service.
