Authenticated post-permission disclosure via unchecked object reference
Published Sep 22, 2025 · Updated Sep 22, 2025
Authorization bypass in Alex Content Mask 1.8.5.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read post role and condition permissions. The permission AJAX handler accepts a caller-controlled post identifier and returns that post's settings without checking the caller's edit_post capability. Author-level access is required, and disclosure is limited to Content Mask role and condition permissions for posts the account cannot edit.
