CVE-2025-5801Network attack vector

Stored XSS via unescaped column shortcode parameter

Published Sep 11, 2025 · Updated Sep 11, 2025

Stored XSS in Digital Events Calendar 1.0.8 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through the column parameter. The shortcode handler in shortcode/Events_List.php accepts the column value and places it into generated page output without sufficient input sanitization or output escaping. Contributor-level access is required; the stored script runs in visitors' browsers when they open an affected page, enabling content changes or data access within that page's origin.
