Contributor-level stored XSS via unescaped shortcode parameters
Published Sep 22, 2025 · Updated Sep 22, 2025
Stored XSS in Noumaan Yaqoob Compact Archives 4.1.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through shortcode parameters. The shortcode rendering path inserts contributor-controlled parameter values into generated archive markup without sufficient validation or contextual output escaping. Contributor access is required to store the payload in a post or page; the script runs when another user views the affected content.
