Incorrect default permissions in Digital Arts filtering products allow local users to execute code as SYSTEM by replacing a service executable. The Windows installer leaves the service executable writable by nonadministrative accounts instead of restricting modification to administrators. Exploitation requires local authenticated access and a stopped product or an expired installation that remains installed.
