CVE-2025-57797

Local privilege escalation via undisclosed installer flaw

Published Aug 27, 2025 · Updated Aug 27, 2025

Incorrect privilege assignment in PFU Limited ScanSnap Manager installers before 6.5L61 allows local users to run commands with elevated privileges. PFU Limited and JVN have not published the installer component or privilege-assignment operation that mishandles attacker-controlled input. A local account is required; successful exploitation elevates that account and permits arbitrary command execution in the installer's privileged context.
