Arbitrary code execution via command parser bypass
Published Aug 22, 2025 · Updated Aug 22, 2025
Command injection in Roo Code before 3.25.5 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code through crafted agent prompts. The command-validation parser fails to separate single-ampersand chains and recognize dangerous process or subshell substitutions before matching an auto-approved command. Exploitation requires prompt-submission access and auto-approved command execution, which is disabled by default; injected commands run with the editor user's privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
