Protected-news disclosure via unfiltered RSS feeds
Published Aug 28, 2025 · Updated Aug 28, 2025
Information disclosure in Contao 5.0.0-RC1 through 5.3.37 and 5.4.0-RC1 through 5.6.0 allows remote attackers to read protected news via RSS. NewsFeedListener passes configured archive identifiers directly into the feed query without checking eachKir archive's protected flag or the requester's group authorization. Exploitation requires a news-feed page that includes a protected archive; unauthenticated readers can obtain its news items but cannot alter content through this flaw.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=>= 5.0.0-RC1, < 5.3.38
