Unauthenticated command execution via unsanitized upload path
Published Sep 9, 2025 · Updated Sep 10, 2025
Command injection in FTP-Flask-python through commit 5173b68 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary OS commands without authentication. The /ftp.html Upload File branch concatenates the untrusted ftp_file form value into a cp command and passes the resulting string to os.system without validation or escaping. Any network client that can reach the Flask endpoint can run commands with the application's process privileges, enabling data access, modification, or service interruption.
