Remote command execution via unsanitized backup parameters
Published Sep 29, 2025 · Updated Sep 29, 2025
OS command injection in PublicCMS 5.202506.a and 5.202506.b allows remote attackers to execute commands through database credentials. The backupDB.bat script directly concatenates unfiltered database, username, and password values into a command line. The demonstrated path requires control of database configuration during installation and a subsequent backup-script invocation from the administrative Site - Execute Script function.
