Root escalation via unvalidated privileged commands
Published Dec 1, 2025 · Updated Jul 5, 2026
Improper access control in SuperDuper! 3.10 allows local users to gain root privileges through the SDAgent component. When the interface lock is open, SDAgent accepts escalated commands from third-party programs without verifying that they originate from SuperDuper's sealed, signed code. A malicious program must already be installed locally, and successful exploitation executes non-backup commands with root privileges.
