Authenticated script execution via unescaped display parameter
Published Oct 1, 2025 · Updated Oct 17, 2025
Reflected XSS in LuCI on OpenWrt 18.06.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript through the package-management page. The packages.htm template URL-encodes the display parameter but inserts it inside a single-quoted onclick handler without JavaScript-context escaping. A crafted request must reach an authenticated administrator's browser, and execution occurs after the user clicks Reset, exposing that LuCI session to script actions.
