Prototype pollution via unchecked conflict-key assignment
Published Sep 24, 2025 · Updated Sep 24, 2025
Prototype pollution in dagre-d3-es before 7.0.11 allows remote attackers to modify Object.prototype through crafted graph input. The bk module's addConflict function assigns attacker-controlled conflict keys directly to ordinary object properties without rejecting proto. Exploitation requires a consuming application to pass attacker-controlled graph data into the layout routine; polluted properties can crash the process or alter later application behavior, while code execution depends on a separate executable-property sink.
