Service interruption via unchecked __proto__ array index
Published Sep 24, 2025 · Updated Sep 24, 2025
Prototype pollution in toggle-array 1.0.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to interrupt a service through a crafted array index. The enable and disable paths use the caller-controlled index to select an element and assign a caller-controlled property without rejecting proto, allowing the assignment to reach Object.prototype. Exploitation requires a consuming application to pass attacker-controlled object, index, and property data into either API; successful pollution changes inherited properties and can deny service.
