Service interruption via prototype-path injection
Published Sep 24, 2025 · Updated Sep 24, 2025
Prototype pollution in rollbar before 2.26.5 and 3.0.0-alpha1 through 3.0.0-beta4 allows attackers to alter Object.prototype. The rollbar/src/utility set function splits its second argument into keys and traverses proto without first severing the target object's prototype chain. Exposure exists only when application code directly imports this nonpublic helper and passes attacker-controlled data as its second argument; the published public interface is unaffected.
