Service interruption via addFileDepend prototype pollution
Published Sep 24, 2025 · Updated Sep 24, 2025
Prototype pollution in magix-combine-ex 2.2.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to interrupt service through a crafted dependency name. The util-deps.addFileDepend function uses the attacker-controlled riskyName parameter as an object key without rejecting proto, allowing an assignment to modify Object.prototype. Exploitation requires a consuming application to pass attacker-controlled dependency names into the function; polluted inherited properties can alter application behavior or crash the process.
